Al-Mikdad welcomes India’s assistance to Syrian citizens who lost their limbs in the terrorist war on the country

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal al-Mikdad has stressed the depth and solidity of relations between Syria and India in all fields.

During a meeting on Thursday with India’s Ambassador in Damascus Hifzur Rahman and head of the international operations at the “Jaipur Center for artificial limbs,” Satish Mehta, al-Mikdad welcomed  India’s  generous assistance to the Syrian citizens who had lost their limbs during the terrorist war on the country.

The Indian Ambassador, on his part, affirmed his country’s support for Syria in its war on terrorism.

 Al-Mikdad was briefed by Satish Mehta on the progress achieved in implementing a project for prosthetic limbs fitment in Syria so providing assistance to those who lost their limbs in the terrorist war.

 The two sides discussed ways to expand the scope of this humanitarian project to include all the Syrian provinces and to qualify the Syrian cadres working in this field through following specialized courses in India.

Mehta pointed out that the center will provide scholarships to Syria with the purpose of training Syrian specialists on the way to manufacture prosthetic limbs.
