Al-Mikdad to Gharib Abadi: Syria supports Iran in the face of Zionist attacks

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad, on Wednesday stressed Syria’s support of Iran against the Zionist continued attacks, and Syria’s condemnation of the heinous aggression that targeted the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

Mikdad, receiving Mr. Kazem GHARIB ABADI, Vice-President of the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran for International Affairs, said that Iran has the right to self-defense against practices of the occupation entity that violate the international law and Vienna diplomatic convention.

The Syrian Minister welcomed cooperation between the judiciary bodies in Syria and Iran, affirming the need for intensifying efforts to boost this cooperation on all levels.

Gharib Abadi, who is also the Vice-President for Human Rights issues in Iran, said his country appreciates Syria’s stances in support of Iran, adding the two countries are standing side by side to foil projects of the Israeli occupation.

Moreover, Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammouda Sabbagh also met with Kazem Gharib Abadi and accompanying judicial delegation. He stressed the deeply-rooted historical relations between Syria and Iran, noting the identical stances in supporting common issues.

Sabbagh pointed to the need to enhance coordination at all levels, especially in the parliamentary field, exchange delegations and experiences between the two parliaments, and coordinate stances at regional and international parliamentary forums.

Gharibabadi noted the strategic relations between the two countries,stressing that Iran stands by Syria in confrontation of the forces of aggression and terrorism.
