Al-Mikdad: Syria to Continue Consultations with Palestinian Leadership on Situation in the Palestinian Camps
DAMASCUS, (ST)-Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faysal al-Mikdad and Director of the Political Bureau of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) Anwar Abdul Hadi on Wednesday discussed the situation in the Palestinian camps in Syria, particularly al-Yarmouk Camp in Damascus after the ISIS terrorist organization had attacked it.
Dr. al-Mikdad stressed that “Syria will keep consulting with the Palestinian leadership, especially regarding the Palestinian camps and will spare no effort, in coordination with the Palestinian brothers, to prevent ISIS and other terrorist groups from undermining the Palestinian people’s rights to self determination and to return to their homeland.”
On his part, Abdul Hadi said that ISIS committed crimes in al-Yarmouk camps and prevented the locals from leaving to the neighboring town of Yelda to receive their share of food aid.
He stressed that the Syrian-Palestinian ties are strong and based on continuous coordination and consultations on all developments.
He said that Syria has supported the Palestinian people and the Syrian government has provided all facilitations to allow the access of humanitarian aid into al-Yarmouk camp and spared no effort to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians who get out of the camp.
