Al-Mikdad stresses the need to take a unified Arab position to support the Palestinian people

Cairo , (ST) – Within the framework of the emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Mikdad discussed with the Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein the developments of the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip.

The two sides condemned the continued Israeli criminal aggression against the Palestinian people. They warned of the danger of the situation in Gaza Strip in the light of the Israeli escalation and unlimited Western support for the Israeli entity.

Minister Al-Mikdad stressed the necessity of taking a unified Arab position in support of the Palestinian people in light of the attempts the Arab region is witnessing to liquidate the Palestinian issue and perpetuate the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.

The two sides called for an immediate halt to the aggression and to allow humanitarian aid to reach Gaza.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional issues and stressed the continuation of consultation and coordination between the two countries.

In the same context, Minister Al-Mikdad and Dr. Abdullah Bouhabib, the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants discussed the situation in the region, especially the continuous criminal Israeli aggression against Gaza.

In this context, Minister Al-Miqdad stressed the importance of taking a unified and strict Arab position to stop Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.
