Al-Mikdad stresses the need to strengthen cooperation between Syria and UN in the field of early recovery
Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad on Monday met with the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Director of the Crisis Burerau of the United Nations Development program Shoko Noda and the accompanying delegation.
The two sides stressed the need to strengthen cooperation between the Syrian government and the United Nations Development Programme, especially in the field of early recovery and support for resilience.
Minister Al-Mikdad briefed the UN delegation on the humanitarian and living conditions in Syria, which were caused by the terrorist war against it, the illegal and inhumane unilateral economic measures imposed by some countries on the Syrian people and the western country’s plundering of the Syrian wealth.
He stressed the positive role played by the United Nations Development Program in implementing development projects that reflect positively on the Syrian people.
In turn, Noda stressed the program’s commitment to working and coordinating with various Syrian national bodies to support development in Syria in various fields. She also stressed the importance of direct access to the development situation in the country and the continuation of continuous cooperation between the two sides to achieve the desired results.
