Al-Mikdad receives credentials of Christophe Martin as new head of the ICRC mission in Syria
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad has received the credentials of Mr. Christophe Martin as the new Head of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Syria.
During a meeting on Thursday, Al-Mikdad and Martin discussed enhancing cooperation between Syria and the ICRC and the importance of mutual confidence and interaction on the different activities conducted by the ICRC in Syria.
Martin said that he is pleased to work in Syria, particularly because the ICRC’s mission in Syria is the biggest at the world level which indicates the ICRC’s keenness to work hard to achieve the humanitarian goals of the International Red Cross organization.
On his part, Al-Mikdad hailed cooperation between Syria and the ICRC and wished Mr. Martine all success in his new mission.
He affirmed the need for continuous cooperation and coordination between the Syrian government and the ICRC’s mission with the aim of achieving the hoped-for goals of the committee’s work and to maintain its effective presence in all Syrian provinces.
