Al-Mikdad reaffirms Syria’s support for China’s territorial integrity

Damascus – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad on Saturday met with the Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East issue Zhai Jun and the accompanying delegation.

Al-Mikdad reaffirmed Syria’s support for the unity of the Chinese people and land and for the One China principle, expressing, in this regard, his rejection of all attempts by some countries to interfere in the Chinese internal affairs.

He voiced Syria’s support for the initiative of the Chinese President Xi Jinping regarding the world security, the world development and the world civilization and for other positive initiatives. He highly appreciated China’s support for Syria’s war on terrorism.

On his part, Zhai Jun said that Syria is a friend of China, and Beijing rejects all attempts to foreign interfere in the country’ s internal affairs, reiterating his country’s support for Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity and its call for lifting the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people and for the departure of all the foreign forces which are illegally present in Syria.
