Damascus – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad and his Omani counterpart Badr Hamad Albusaidi, in a phone conversation on Wednesday, discussed bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and the latest developments in the region.
Al-Mikdad said that Syria, under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad, highly appreciates the efforts exerted by Oman during and after the latest Arab Summit in Jeddah with the aim of enhancing Arab rapprochement and strengthening the Arab position.
Al-Mikdad stressed that Oman’s role has always been positive based on a strategic vision that seeks achieving the Arab interest and unifying the Arab stances.
He affirmed that Syria has always sought to strengthen its relations with Oman in all areas of common interest.
For his part, Albusaidia hailed positive developments in Syria and the region, affirming Oman’s firm support for Syria in the confrontation of terrorism and in defense of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He stressed that Oman always seeks enhancing regional and international cooperation to serve joint causes.
The two ministers agreed to continue cooperation and coordination on all issues of common interest
