Al-Mikdad, Naji stress importance of Palestinian national unity

Dr. Faisal Al-Mikdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Thursday met with Talal Naji, Secretary General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command, and the accompanying delegation.
The two sides discussed developments in the region, especially on the Palestinian arena, and the importance of achieving the Palestinian national unity in the light of the Israeli occupation’s continuous crimes and violations of the international legitimacy resolutions and the human rights of the Palestinian people.
Minister Al-Mikdad renewed Syria’s condemnation of the practices, violations, and continuous killings committed by the Israeli occupation authorities against the Palestinian people, and the Israeli violation of Islamic sanctities, which constitute a war crime and a crime against humanity condemned by international law, the Human Rights Charter, and international humanitarian law, as well as a gross violation of the human rights of the Palestinian prisoners.
Al-Mikdad also stressed that the Palestinian cause will remain the central cause of Syria, which will continue to support the Palestinian people, their firm and inalienable right to self-determination, and the establishment of their independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.
For his part, Naji explained the difficult situation of the Palestinian cause, the struggle led by the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli massacres, and the extremist racist policies of the occupation that aim at liquidating the Palestinian cause. He pointed out that Syria has never abandoned its national role and firm position in support of the cause of the Palestinian people’s rights to restore their legitimate and inalienable rights.
Naji stressed that Syria was and still is the steadfast fortress in defense of the Palestinian people and in support for their struggle to restore their rights and establish their independent state.
