Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad and the Iraqi Foreign Minister’s Advisor Uday Al-Khairallah discussed during a meeting on Monday cooperation, coordination and consultation between Syria and Iraq on border issues.
Al-Mikdad explained the repurcussions of the terrorist war on Syria and affirmed the importance of cooperation between Syria and Iraq to face this war. He also reviewed the disastrous impacts of the unfair unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on the Syrian people.
For his part, Al-Khairallah stressed the deep-rooted relations between Syria and Iraq, reiterating the need to boost joint action and coordination, particularly in field of counter-terrorism.
Earlier in the day, a delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and an Iraqi delegation held a meeting at the ministry’s building for discussing Syria-Iraq border issues.
