Al-Mikdad, his Cuban counterpart discuss ways to enhance Syrian-Cuban relations

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad on Thursday received a phone call from his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, during which they discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them for the interests of the two friendly countries.

During the phone call, Al-Mikdad affirmed the depth of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and peoples, and Syria’s permanent and unconditional support for Cuba in the face of the unjust economic blockade imposed by the United States.

In turn, Minister Rodriguez reaffirmed his country’s support for Syria in its war against terrorism and in the face of the unjust and inhumane economic sanctions imposed on the country. He called for strengthening the existing friendship ties between the two countries and increasing coordination at international forums.

The two ministers also discussed preparations for Syria’s participation in the G77 plus China Conference which Cuba will host in mid-September.
