Al-Mikdad expresses condolences to his Moroccan counterpart over earthquake victims

Damascus – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad on Saturday sent a letter of condolences to the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita over the victims of the powerful earthquake that struck several provinces in Morocco this dawn and that claimed the lives of hundreds of people, injured hundreds others and caused destruction to many buildings.

Al-Mikdad expressed the Syrian people’s solidarity with the brotherly Moroccan people in this ordeal, wishing speedy recovery for the injured. He stressed his confidence that the Moroccan people will overcome this disaster and rebuild what the earthquake has destroyed.

At least 1037 people were killed, as a result of a powerful earthquake that struck several provinces in Morocco at dawn today, the epicenter of which was the Al Haouz province.
