Al-Mikdad discusses with Abdullah bin Zayed bilateral relations between Syria and the UAE

As part of his current visit to the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Faisal Al-Mikdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, held a meeting with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Al-Mikdad conveyed the greetings of President Bashar Al-Assad to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and Syria’s gratitude for the humanitarian aid that the UAE provided to Syria after the earthquake that struck some Syrian governorates.

In turn, Minister Abdullah bin Zayed expressed his wishes for Syria for continued security and stability, and for its people to enjoy more development and prosperity.

The two sides discussed a wide range of relations between Syria and the UAE in various fields, and the challenges facing the region in general, and addressed a number of issues related to the international situation and their repercussions on the situation in the Middle East.

The two ministers agreed to continue their contacts and consultations within the framework of their common keenness to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly countries and people.

The meeting was attended by Habib Abbas, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Wael Ismail Al-Khalil, Charge d’Affaires of the Syrian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Wissam Ajeeb, Director of the Executive Support Department, and Nibras Suleiman from the Executive Support Department.

From the Emirati side, Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State in the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hassan Ahmed Al Shehhi, UAE Ambassador to Damascus, and other officials in the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the meeting.
