Al-Mikdad: Countries Which Used Terrorists as “Pawns” to Kill the Syrians Should Be Punished

BEIRUT- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faysal al-Mikdad has stressed that Syria has been the first country to suffer from the terrorism coming from Libya.

“Arms shipments were sent as a present from the terrorists in Libya to the terrorists in Syria either via Lebanon or via Turkey, the country which keeps welcoming terrorists coming from Libya and facilitates their infiltration into Syria”, al-Mikdad said in an article published by the Lebanese “al-Binaa” newspaper yesterday.

He added “when Libya becomes factory to produce terrorism and a center to send arms shipments to Syria and the rest of the world, our task will be to stop this coming danger and to raise the voice against the countries which keep messing with the future of the Libyans and using them as (pawns) to kill the Syrians, mainly France and the United states.”

He urged halting the killing in Libya and punishing the leaderships and countries which invaded the country and unjustly dominated its lands and resources and turned it into a hotbed for the terrorists.

“All the mistakes of the former Libyan regime over decades of rule can’t be compared to the crimes committed by the invaders of Libya in the 21st century that claimed the lives of tens of thousands from the Libyan people. The barbaric destruction of this Arab country has indicated the barbarism of western countries and their puppet Arab agents who funded the crimes,” al-Mikdad said.

He added that fragmenting Libya and turning it into conflicting parts by the terrorist organizations was a “rehearsal” in preparation to carry out similar schemes in other Arab countries.

He clarified that the majority of the Libyans are looking forward to restoring their freedom, sovereignty and independence, but the western interests, which are based on stealing the oil resources of Libya, will hinder achieving these hopes, referring to the Saudi, Qatari and Turkish race to have their shares from the “Libyan cake” by supporting terrorists and mercenaries inside and outside Libya to implement their masters agendas at the expense of the Libyans lives, homeland, wealth, unity and history.

Concluding his article, al-Mikdad reiterated that Syria supports Libya as a unified Arab sovereign state, urging all who conspired against Libya and caused its destruction to hands-off this country.
