Al-Mikdad: accusing government of using chemical weapons is big lie

DAMASCUS,(ST)-Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Faisal al-Mikdad asserted that the Syrian government has responded to all requests of the UN investigation team commissioned with inspecting  the use of chemical weapons for its conviction that the terrorists are those who used these  weapons.

”The team can embark on the work directly”,  al-Mikdad said in an exclusive interview with CNN reporter in Damascus,  reiterating that “accusing the Syrian government of using the chemical weapons is a big lie because in the country there is a responsible government while there are irresponsible enemies spreading rumors and  acting  in an inhuman ways”. 

Al-Mikdad renewed his trust that the Syrian government will not use the chemical weapons, in case it has, against its own people, pointing out that the videos revealing these allegations are bogus. 

In response to the US planning for military intervention in Syria, al-Mikdad reiterated that just the preparation of such action indicates that the US will  kill the innocent people and she will be held accountable to their people and  history. He added that in case the US envisages  attacking Syria, it can but Syria will resist and respond to any criminal attack.

Asked about the demeanor of Syria’s retaliation to the foreign military intervention, al-Mikdad said that this issue cannot by posted via media but those responsible for the action know the way better.
