Al-Mikdad, Abdullahian discuss strategic bilateral relations, high coordination between Syria and Iran
Damascus (ST): Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Mikdad, received a phone call from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hussein Amir Abdullahian during which they discussed the strategic bilateral relations between the two countries and the high coordination between them at various levels for the interest of the two peoples in Syria and Iran.
The two ministers reviewed developments in the region and the world, and exchanged ideas on a number of issues of common interest, as their points of view were identical on the topics that were discussed.
The two ministers expressed their satisfaction with the continuous development of bilateral relations between the two countries and the high coordination between them in all fields.
The two ministers reaffirmed their countries’ support for the just struggle of the Palestinian people in defending their sanctities and their historical rights, and strongly condemned the crimes committed by the Zionist racist entity against the Palestinians throughout the occupied territories.
Minister Mikdad praised the important and effective Iranian role in supporting the steadfastness of the Syrian people and in assisting Syria at various levels, especially in the Astana format meetings, which realized achievements on the ground.
Al-Mikdad renewed Syria’s support for Iran in the face of attempts to pressure it and external interference in its internal affairs. He condemned the positions of the United States and Western countries regarding the Iranian nuclear file, expressing Syria’s confidence in the wisdom and fortitude of the Islamic Republic of Iran, its leadership, government and people, in confronting these conspiracies.
In turn, Minister Abdullahian renewed Iran’s support for Syria’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and affirmed the continuation of the support that Syria receives from the Islamic Republic of Iran in its war on terrorism, and his country’s keenness to provide all forms of economic support to Syria in the face of the coercive economic sanctions imposed on it by the West.
Abdullahian stressed the importance of the continuity of coordination and consultation between the two countries on various issues and files, stressing the importance of maintaining the continuous push in bilateral relations and exchanging views between the investors in the two countries on various developments and events on the regional and international arenas.
