Al-Mikdad, Abdollahian hold press conference in Damascus

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad, during the press conference with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahian in Damascus on Sunday, said that the Iranian delegation held lengthy and detailed discussions with President Bashar Al-Assad on all developments in the region, especially the heroic steadfastness of the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip.
Al-Mikdad added that the view points of the two countries were identical on the support that must be provided to the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip in the face of the genocide committed by the Israeli occupation.

For his part, Abdollahian said “I discussed with President Al-Assad the latest developments in the region as well as regional and international issues, pointing out that there is a will by the leaderships of our two countries to achieve remarkable progress in cooperation in various economic, commercial and industrial fields.”

He added “I conveyed an official invitation from President Ebrahim Raisi to President Al-Assad to visit Iran”.

“We condemn the illegal presence of American forces on Syrian territory and offer our condolences to the Syrian people over the victims of the recent American aggression, Abdollahian went on to say.

He also said “we reject the Zionist entity’s plans to forcibly displace the Palestinian people from Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and we affirm that the Zionist attacks in the region will not remain unanswered.”

Al-Mikdad pointed out that the American and Turkish occupation forces must leave the Syrian territory, and the crimes committed by these forces are crimes against humanity, and they must be held accountable for them.

He stressed that the Zionist entity repeatedly attacks Syrian lands due to Syria’s resistance to this entity and its plans since its establishment on the land of Palestine.
