Al-Maliki: The international consensus on the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination is a failure of the occupation

Occupied Jerusalem (ST): Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Maliki affirmed that the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly by a majority of a resolution supporting the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination is nothing but an affirmation of the justice of the Palestinian cause and the failure of the Israeli occupation entity.

Al-Maliki made it clear in a statement today, reported by Wafa Agency, that the countries that abstained from voting on the resolution or voted against it cannot continue to support the occupation and its crimes that violate all international resolutions, recalling that the Charter of the United Nations stipulates the right of peoples to freedom and self-determination.

Al-Maliki stressed the need to implement the rules of international law, including the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which affirms that the settlements and the apartheid wall deprive the Palestinian people of their right to self-determination, calling on the United Nations to assume its responsibilities to protect the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and to take practical measures that end the occupation.
