Al-Maliki: The continued failure of the Security Council to adopt a resolution regarding the aggression against Gaza is unjustified
New York (ST): Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki stressed that the continued failure of the UN Security Council to adopt a resolution regarding the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip is unjustified, stressing that leaving the Palestinian people face a barbaric Israeli aggression and a massive humanitarian crisis is a new failure for the international community.
Al-Maliki said during a session of the UN Security Council on Tuesday: “Two million Palestinians are living under bombardment, thousands have been martyred and injured, and there are more than 1,000 under the rubble as a result of the continued aggression on Gaza Strip for the 18th day,” pointing out that the delay in bringing aid, medicine and fuel into Gaza means imposing the death penalty on the people of Gaza Strip.
Al-Maliki wondered how many Palestinian children must be martyred for the Security Council to take action to stop the Israeli aggression against our people, adding, “We are here to stop the ongoing deliberate, systematic and brutal massacres committed by Israel, the occupying power, against the Palestinians. The Security Council must stop these crimes, and “There is no justification for its failure.”
Al-Maliki stressed that the aid being brought into Gaza Strip will not alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians if the massacres and ethnic cleansing operations by the occupation continue, stressing at the same time that abandoning the Palestinian people is a betrayal of human values.
