Amman (ST): The Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil, head of the Syrian delegation to the Syrian-Jordanian ministerial meetings, explained that the Syrian side presented the reality of issues between the two countries in various fields and the difficulties it faces and the proposed mechanisms to overcome them, describing the meetings as very important.
Minister Al-Khalil said in a statement to news reporter in Amman that it was agreed on measures that serve issues of trade, transport, agriculture, energy and water resources between the two countries, with the development of future visions for them, and setting dates for discussing and completing technical issues in a way that puts what was agreed upon into actual implementation to reach the desired results.
Minister Al-Khalil indicated that it was agreed to unify the transit fees for trucks, pointing out that the joint technical committee for transport issues between the two countries will meet to formulate its vision.
Hel added that it was also agreed to immediately implement the “door to door” shipping system for Syrian trucks in conjunction with the opening of the Jaber border crossing, which will start today.
The Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade stressed that during the meetings, the reality of the joint Syrian-Jordanian companies was reviewed, namely the Syrian-Jordanian Free Zone, the Syrian-Jordanian for Industry with its multiple factories, and the Joint Company for Land Transport, indicating that the two sides agreed to develop a common vision to address the problems encountered in their work in cooperation between the relevant ministries.
