The Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Muhammed Samer Al Khalil on Thursday discussed with Hossein Dehghan, the head of Mostazafan Foundation , one of the largest economic groups in Iran, the possibility of joint cooperation to implement a group of projects in Syria.
During the meeting held in Tehran, the minister Al-Khalil reviewed the advantages of the investment in Syria and the facilities provided by the Syrian government in the priority areas, in which coordination and partnership between the two countries can be possible.
For his part, Dehghan gave a presentation on the capabilities of the group in various fields, expressing readiness to cooperate with the Syrian side for the benefit of both sides.
The meeting was attended by the Syrian Ambassador to Tehran, Dr. Shafiq Dayoub, and the Iranian Ambassador to Damascus, Dr. Ali Akbari.
“Mostazafan Foundation” is active in various fields such as tourism, industry, agriculture, engineering services, information technology, hotel management, and others.
In addition, technical meetings continued between the Syrian and Iranian sides over two consecutive days in the capital, Tehran, to reach a final version of the protocol of the joint supreme committee that will be held soon.
The Assistant Chairman of the Planning and International Cooperation Authority, Dr. Thuraya Al-Idlibi, said in a statement to SANA : “The discussions aim to agree on a number of agreements that will be signed at the conclusion of the work of the joint committee. She added: “We hope that there will be a good number of agreements that will be signed in the commercial, cultural, tourism and other fields. We also hope that these technical meetings will result in strengthening cooperation between the two parties and raising its level, in a way that achieves mutual benefit and the common interest of the two countries.”
Al-Idlibi stressed the seriousness of the two sides in cooperating regarding the files at hand, noting that the Iranian side has expressed its willingness to study a number of projects that suit the current circumstances in Syria.
