Al-Jalali discusses with the Chargé d’Affairs of the Iraqi Embassy in Damascus coordination to secure relief supplies for arrivals from Lebanon
Prime Minister Mohammed Ghazi Al-Jalali discussed today with the Charge d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Damascus , Yassin Sharif Al-Hajimi, the coordination mechanisms between the two countries to secure basic supplies, relief, food and medical needs for the brothers arriving from Lebanon to Syria, and to ensure the smooth flow and delivery of aid to them.
The two sides also discussed the importance of the effective contribution of community forces, with the capabilities they possess, in providing aid to the arrivals.
Al-Jalali expressed the Syrian government’s keenness, under the directives of President Bashar Al-Assad, on providing services and facilities to the Lebanese brothers who have arrived, securing their needs and providing them with logistical and health services. He explained that Syria, despite all the difficult economic conditions it is going through as a result of terrorism and the unjust siege it is subjected to, will remain, as everyone knows, a refuge for all honorable Arabs, and will spare no effort to provide what is necessary for the Lebanese brothers coming to the country.
For his part, the Chargé d’Affairs of the Iraqi Embassy stressed the importance of cooperation between the governments of the two countries in mobilizing energies to provide assistance to Lebanese arrivals. He pointed to the arrival of a batch of medical and food aid from Iraq to the arrivals, praising the cooperation shown by the various parties concerned in Syria in this regard.
The two sides also stressed the importance of the fraternal and historical relations that bind the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and the necessity of investing in them to strengthen bilateral relations in the economic, trade, energy, higher education, scientific research, health and exchange of goods fields, and the necessity of removing obstacles that hinder the development of economic relations between the two countries.
