GENEVA, (ST)-Head of the Syrian Arab Republic’s delegation at the Intra-Syrian dialogue in Geneva Bashar al-Jaafari said that the delegation received a paper of proposals from the UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan De Mistura during a round of talks on Wednesday.
The delegation will study the paper after they return to Damascus and will respond to its content at the beginning of the next round of talks in Geneva, al-Jaafari added during a press conference following the “positive” talks with De Mistura.
Concerning yesterday’s Brussels’ blasts, al-Jaafari stressed Syria’s strong condemnation of these terrorist attacks, pointing out that “some of those who carried out the attacks had fought in Syria along with the terrorist organizations and killed the Syrians before they returned to their capital Brussels.”
“It is the same case with the terrorists who carried out the terrorist attacks in Paris,” al-Jaafari clarified.
He reiterated Syria’s call for unifying all international efforts to confront takfiri terrorism and put an end to some countries’ support for terrorist organizations as to preserve regional and international peace and stability.
He pointed out that there are some Security Council reports which confirm the existence of thousands of terrorists who commit crimes against the Syrian people, “yet some in the West and some in the Arab world and Turkey don’t feel ashamed for describing them as moderate opposition”.
