Al-Jaafari: ‘We Proposed Our Amendments to de Mistura’s Paper’

 GENEVA, (ST)- Head of the Syrian Arab Republic’s delegation to the Intra-Syrian talks in Geneva Bashar Al-Jaafri on Friday said he held constructive and fruitful talks with the UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan De Mistura.

In a press conference following the meeting, al-Jaafari added “we discussed with Mistura his paper of proposals on the fundamental principles for political solution in Syria. We proposed our amendments about this paper and passed it to Mistura and his team to study it and present it to other participating  parties.”

  He noted that the paper was originally based on the Syrian government’s delegation’s paper delivered to Mistura’s team on the first day of the last round of talks.

“We agreed with de Mistura on discussing the amendments in the next meeting on Monday at 11 a.m. to get his reply to the amendments,” al-Jaafari said.
