Al-Jaafari Urges UN to Hold the Terrorist Turkish-Saudi-Qatari-Israeli Alliance Accountable for Bloodshed in Syria

NEW YORK-Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Bashar al-Jaafari has stressed that it is time the United Nations should act to hold the terrorist Turkish-Saudi-Qatari-Israeli alliance accountable for the terrorism and bloodshed in Syria and for undermining the Palestinian cause to help Israel achieve its schemes in Palestine.

Al-Jaafari, who was speaking yesterday during the a Security Council session dedicated for the situation in the Middle East, said the Israeli occupation has never respected the UN resolutions although Israel itself was established by a UN resolution.

“All know that Israel’s persistence in giving no heed to the United Nations, oppressing the Palestinian people and keeping the occupation of the Arab lands including the Syrian Golan, is attributed to the irresponsible political, military, economic and media support provided by some influential countries in the Security Council to Israel,” al-Jaafari clarified.

He pointed out that some delegations meeting at the Security Council has been claiming day and night that they are keen to protect the Syrian people, but their allegations were soon uncovered when they kept silent towards the Israeli occupation of the Syrian Golan, which has been continuous since 1967, and towards the Zionist practices against the Syrians there, “as if restoring the Golan was not the right of the Syrian people.”

The Syrian Diplomat pointed out that the latest developments in the disengagement area in the Occupied Syrian Golan and the danger to which UN peacekeepers were exposed to, were not coincidental. They affirm that the support of some regimes, including Israel, to the al-Qaeda-linked armed terrorist groups, operating in the disengagement area,  doesn’t only violate the UNDOF agreement and the Security Council resolutions but it also threatens the lives of the UN forces working there and undermines the UN mandate.

Al-Jaafari said that ignoring the warnings and information Syria repeatedly presented to the UN officials about the Israeli support for the terrorist groups in Syria and the Qatari intelligence involvement in kidnapping UNDOF peacekeepers, is unacceptable anymore.

He added that the UN General Assembly’s ignoring of Israeli violations and of some regional countries’ support for armed terrorist groups in Syria have encouraged terrorists including those of the al-Qaeda-affiliated  al-Nousra Front to escalate their attacks and treats against UNDOF forces.

He urged the United Nations to act and punish the Terrorist Turkish-Saudi-Qatari-Israeli alliance, which seeks destroying Syria, encouraging the bloodshed in the country and undermining the Palestinian cause to serve Israeli expansionist and domination schemes.

Al-Jaafari asserted that the Syrian government affirms its firm and principled stance in support for the Palestinian people’s right to self determination and to the establishment of an independent state over their national land with al-Quds as a capital. The Syrian government also backs the Palestinian refugees’ legitimate right to return to their homeland in accordance with the UN resolutions No. 194, he said, adding that Syria condemns the latest Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza which constitutes a new chapter of the Zionist conspiracy against the Palestinian people.
