Al-Jaafari to de Mistura: we will remain patient

Head of the Syrian governmental delegation to Geneva talks Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari has told the U.N. special envoy Mr. Staffande Mistura that the prophet Ayyoub was born in our region and we will remain patient.

His remark was made on January 29 when he gave Mr. de Mistura time to answer the Syrian delegation’s questions, especially the following question: with whom will we negotiate?

“The prophet Ayyub was born in our region and we will remain patient. But you should not forget that the Syrian public opinion is watching our work and it has every right to know with whom will we negotiate and for what?, ” al-Jaafari said, according to the Damascus-based al-Watan newspaper.

So far, the Syrian governmental delegation has not received a list about the opposition delegation’ members that will negotiate with it in Geneva 3.
