Syria’s Ambassador to Russia Bashar Al-Jaafari has stressed that the Palestinian cause is a just one and it has exposed the hypocrisy of western societies and western politicians, reiterating that despite the terrorism practiced by Israel and its sponsors, the Palestinian cause has proved to be far stronger than the arrogance of the Israeli entity.
Al-Jaafari made the remarks during a mass event held by the Russian “Al-Quds” Center in Moscow marking International Al-Quds Day to voice solidarity with the Palestinian people and other Arab peoples who are continuously being exposed to Israeli aggression backed by the United States and its allies.
“Palestine as a whole, not only Al-Quds city, is a sacred land. Archeologists indicated that the most ancient cities in the world are Ariha in Palestine and Damascus in Syria,” Al-Jaafari said, affirming Syria’s appreciation over Russia’s great support for the struggle of the Palestinian, Syrian, Lebanese and Iraqi peoples.
Al-Jaafari pointed out that celebrating Al-Quds Day in Moscow today has a great meaning as the Soviet Union, first, and then the Russian federation, have been supporting the Palestinian cause and other Arab causes since a long time.
He condemned the horrible crimes being committed by the Zionist gangs against the Palestinian people, pointing out that the Israeli massacres against the Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and Al-Quds are a clear proof that the Israeli entity is a terrorist, barbaric and savage entity.
He affirmed that attacking the Iranian Consulate in Damascus, murdering aid workers in Gaza and slaughtering 400 patients and wounded al Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza were all crimes that were committed by the Israeli entity in one day which proves the terrorist nature of this entity.
In his opening speech at the headquarters of the Soviet Fund for Peace in Moscow Sergey Baburin, head of the Russian “Al-Quds” Committee, pointed out that Al-Quds Day this year coincides with the martyrdom of tens of thousands of victims as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories and the terrorist attacks carried out by the Israeli government against the Palestinian people and the peoples of the region. He stressed his strong condemnation of the ongoing Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, the most recent of which was targeting the Iranian consulate building in Damascus, which proves the true terrorist nature of the Israeli entity.
Baburin explained that Syria is in the forefront of struggle against the Israeli occupation and it always calls for liberating the occupied Arab territories.
For his part, the Iranian ambassador in Moscow Kazem Jalali stressed that the people of Palestine can never be annihilated, and the evidence for this is that the Zionist aggression against the people of Gaza during the past six months did not achieve its goal, noting the iron will of the Palestinian people and the strength of their resistance in the face of the Israeli aggression and machine of war and destruction.
Jalali strongly condemned the Western silence on the Zionist genocidal crimes and the continued violation of human rights against the Palestinian people, noting the failure of the UN Security Council to achieve security on a small area of Palestinian land and its failure to take a decision to stop the aggression as a result of the double standards of the US administration. He recalled that Western officials wanted to divide Syria and they sent thousands of terrorists to the country to achieve this goal, and they did the same in Iraq, pointing out that the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus violates all international norms.
The Palestinian Ambassador in Moscow Abdel Hafeez Nofal, for his part, said that the next major battle will inevitably take place in Al-Quds (Jerusalem), indicating that what is required of the international community is first to push for an immediate ceasefire and accelerate the increase of international material and food aid to Gaza Strip, where more than two million Palestinian citizens are in need of 500 food trucks per day, while less than 100 trucks arrive now at best.
