Al-Jaafari, Director of the Library of Foreign Literature in Moscow enhancing Syrian-Russian cultural relations

Moscow, (ST) – The Syrian Ambassador to Russia, Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, discussed with Director of the Library of  Foreign Literature in Moscow Pavel Kuzmin means of developing Syrian-Russian cultural relations.

During his tour of the library, Ambassador Al-Jaafari expressed his desire to establish cooperation and coordination between the Russian Library and Al-Assad National Library in Damascus. He also expressed his desire to sign a memorandum of understanding in this regard, based on the cultural partnership between the two friendly countries.

Al-Jaafari pointed to the great cultural importance of this Russian library, and the great role it played in the cultural life of Russia as a cultural and enlightening center concerned in literature, arts and foreign languages.

In turn, Kuzmin referred to the library’s contribution in providing thousands of books and literary references for Russian students and academics, in order to get them acquainted with foreign literary works. He stressed the desire to expand its Arabic literature department through cooperation with the concerned authorities in Syria.
