Al-Jaafari and Al-Khair Allah: Fateful challenges require intensifying cooperation and coordination between Syria and Iraq

Damascus (ST): Deputy Foreign and Expatriate Minister  Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari discussed with the Iraqi Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs  Nizar Al-Khairallah and the accompanying delegation issues of common interest between the two brotherly countries and ways to strengthen bilateral relations and push them forward.

 

Dr. Al-Jaafari praised the existing cooperation between the two brotherly countries, expressing his thanks to the Iraqi officials for the decisions they took to settle the residency status of Syrian citizens residing in Iraq, which reflected positively on the Syrian citizens and the work of the concerned authorities in both countries. 

Dr. Al-Jaafari stressed the geopolitical importance of both countries and that the fateful challenges they face require them to increase joint cooperation, reviewing in this context a number of issues that require intensifying cooperation and coordination to improve the economic and social conditions of citizens in both countries, most notably the issue of water, organized crime, trafficking in antiquities and smuggling and mitigating the negative effects of unilateral coercive measures.
