Al-Jaafari and Abkhazia’s Deputy Premier discuss enhancing Syrian-Abkhazian relations

On April 26th, the Syrian Ambassador to Moscow, Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, discussed with the Deputy Prime Minister of Abkhazia and Minister of Economy Christina Uruzgan the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of developing them.

The two sides stressed the need to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, and work to raise the level of cooperation between Syria and Abkhazia in all commercial, economic, cultural and other fields, through the work of the Syrian-Abkhazian joint governmental committee.

Uruzgan offered condolences for the victims of the earthquake disaster that struck Syria last February, noting that the Abkhaz people collected in-kind and financial aid and sent it to the benefit of the earthquake-affected people in Syria.

For his part, Ambassador Al-Jaafari affirmed the depth of the historical relations that have brought the two countries together for many centuries.

He noted the position of the Abkhaz people in support of the steadfastness of the Syrian people, and expressed his thanks in the name of the Syrian people for the assistance of friendly Abkhazia.
