Al-Hamwi: Occupation Authorities’ Report to Human Rights Council Includes Lies

GENEVA- Syria has stressed that the report presented yesterday to the Human Rights Council by the authorities of the Israeli occupation included lies and false news aiming to improve the occupation authorities’ dark image before the world.

During a session to discuss the Israeli report, Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva Faisal al-Hamwi said that “this report is presented by one of the most terrorist entities in the world”. He reminded the conferees of Israel’s aggressive history, its hostile acts against Arab countries, its brutality against the Palestinian people and its blatant violations of international obligations.

Al-Hamwi urged the occupation authorities to fully cooperate with the United Nations and to immediately and unconditionally allow the fact finding committee in charge of investigation the Israeli inhuman activities to visit the occupied Syrian Golan. He also urged them to stop placing obstacles before the Syrian citizens who want to visit their relatives in the motherland, Syria.

In addition, al-Hamwi called on the Israeli authorities to respect the cultural identity of the Syrian citizens in the occupied Golan, to respect their duties as an occupying authority by preserving the natural and environmental resources of Golan, to release all the Arab prisoners, including the Syrians, and to treat captives in accordance with human international law.
