Al-Halqi: Weakening the Syrian State by Destroying its Economy, Hindering Production Main Goal of Global War on Syria

 DAMASCUS, (ST)-“Among the most important goals of the global war on Syria is to weaken the structure of the Syrian state by destroying its economy, hindering  the production and building process and undermining the strength of the Syrian Pound,” Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi has affirmed. 

The premier made the remarks during his meeting on Thursday with head and members of the Syrian Commission on Financial Markets and Securities.

 “This global war was destined to failure thanks to the steadfastness of the Syrian people and army and to the procurers adopted by the government and its financial and banking systems to withstand the crisis,” al-Halqi said.

He urged the commission to play a further role in organizing and developing financial markets and affiliated activities as to attain the hoped-for justice, efficiency and transparency, to reduce risks of dealing with financial markets and to protect citizens and investors from cheat and other suspicious activities.

 On their part, had and members of the commission asserted their keenness to enhance the commission’s performance to fortify national economy.
