Al-Halqi: the government continues ensuring citizens’ needs

Damascus (ST)-Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi has confirmed that the government keeps on implementing the ministerial statement with firm steps in accordance with available potentials and priorities and on ensuring citizens’ requirements in spite of terrorism and the economic sanctions and difficulties facing them.

In a speech delivered at the People’s Assembly on Thursday, al-Halqi pointed out that Syria is combating the world terrorism which is exported to it by more than forty countries through providing the armed terrorist groups with money and weapons.

Al-Halqi emphasized the government’s support to the Arab Syrian army which is the only guarantee for security of citizens and country, pointing out that the terrorist targeting of development and service institutions is an attempt to target morsel of citizens, to fragmentize social fabric and to assassinate qualifications.

The Premier said that the ministerial committee concerned with implementing the political program for solving the crisis in Syria has held more than 35 meetings with many parties and sectors in Damascus and all governorates.

Regarding the economic, educational and living issues, al-Halqi said: “The maritime process in the ports of Lattakia and Tartous is good, indicating that the government decided to purchase 10 civil aircrafts to join our air navy to ease citizens’ services”.

Al-Halqi clarified that the two refineries of Homs and Banias can ensure big part of citizens’ needs of oil products while the rest part is being imported from the friend countries.

About ensuring gas to citizens, al-Halqi asserted that a new station for filling up gas will be opened in Jamraya in Damascus countryside after the defuse of Adra station.

Regarding the electric sector , the Premier referred to the  terrorists’ continuous targeting of this sector and to the continuous repair operations being executed to provide citizens with electricity.

Al-Halqi also outlined the efforts being made in the water resources, educational, communication and health sectors which are targeted by terrorists.

Al-Halqi underlined that the government is shouldering its national responsibility to ensure residences for people affected by current events who now become 169 thousand persons, adding that SP. 30 billion have been allocated this year for compensating the harmed families.

 Al-Halqi said that agriculture season is good and more than 2.5 million tons of wheat will be stored this year, but the armed terrorist groups are stealing the strategic crops from the silos and move them to Turkey to sell in cheap prices.

“The government is ensuring requirements of planting wheat and cotton”, al-Halqi concluded.
