DAMASCUS, (ST) – Prime Minister Dr. Wael gave his instructions toall ministries and public -affiliated bodies to be on alert during Eid al-Fitr holiday with the aim of rendering best services to citizens, particularly health, electricity—etc. services.
Al-Halqwi’s direction came during the weekly Cabinet meeting on Tuesday
Presiding over the session,al-Halqi stressed the need for the Internal Trade and Consumer Protecting Ministry to keep a close watch on markets and supervise work during the holiday, calling for direct contact with citizens to address all issues according to available resources.
Al-Halqi also instructed ministries to direct surplus staff to the Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Ministry to work as provisioning inspectors, urging ministries to expedite the opening of retail outlets in their establishments.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister also briefed the cabinet on the results of his successful visit to Tehran, during which the Syrian side discussed with their Iranian counterparts ways of boosting cooperation, noting that the new Iranian leadership is keen on making further economic, trade and industrial cooperation.
Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs, Minister of Local Administration Omar Ghalawanji, for his part,briefed the Cabinet on the state of the services sector and the results of the terrorist attacks on electric power and water stations.

Qadri Jamil ,Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, gave a brief intervention in which he focused on the economic and livelihood and conditions and the steps taken by the government to meet citizens’ needs .
At the end of the meeting,the Cabinet approved a bill on establishing the National Agency for Combating Corruption which will replace the current Central Agency of Supervision and Inspection, in addition to approving a bill on the law for combating unlawful gains and a bill on establishing a supervision and inspection directorate.
