Al-Halaqi inspects Adra Cement Company and Ain al-Fijah Water Unit

DAMASCUS COUNTRYSIDE – Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halaqi visited Adra Cement Company and Ain al-Fijah Water Unit in Damascus Countryside.

Al-Halaqi said that the tour comes in implementation of President Bashar al-Assad’s directives about keeping in touch with all productive work sectors, pointing out that the workers sticking to their workplaces during the feast holiday and their insistence on production and providing the needs of citizens prove the vitality, steadfastness and willpower of the Syrian people in spite of all what they suffered during the criminal terrorist war waged on Syria, SANA reported.

In a press statement, Premier al-Halaqi noted that Adra Cement Company is given much attention by the government given that it is one of the industrial sectors directly linked to the reconstruction process, adding that the company is producing around 2200 tons of cement per day for all southern provinces.

He pointed out that cement is available in market despite the fact that some factories stopped production due to terrorist attacks.

“The Cabinet’s Economic Committee has banned cement imports to protect national industry and meet market needs through domestic production,” al-Halaqi said.

Al-Halaqi hailed the efforts of the company’s workers and their sacrifices, stressing that the government is seeking to improve the living standards of workers in recognition of their efforts and dedication to work.

Touring Ain al-Fijah Water Unit in Jamraya, al-Halaqi stressed that workers in water units in Damascus Countryside and Tartous are working at full production capacity to meet the national market’s need of water and make profits.

The Prime minister also inspected a military checkpoint in Damascus Countryside and conveyed the greetings of President Bashar al-Assad to the military personnel, affirming that Syria is close to a great victory over terrorism.

For their part, the army’s personnel affirmed that they are determined to defeat terrorism and restore security and stability.
