Al-Halaqi: Aleppo will witness new achievements in services sector in coming days

Damascus – Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi asserted that Aleppo province will witness within the coming days new achievements in the services sector in terms of providing electricity, water, communications, transport, and more.

In a phone call with the Syrian TV on Saturday, Premier al-Halaqi praised the achievements of the Syrian Arab Army which reopened the road to Aleppo in the direction of Khanasser-Ethraia, noting that maintenance teams began work on rehabilitating the road immediately after it was secured, SANA reported.

He pointed out that tens of tons of essential supplies have been delivered to Aleppo during the past two days, and that fuel and cooking gas have been delivered in good quantities on daily basis during the past four days, while electricity is returning gradually as of Saturday evening, with more power to be supplied during the coming days.

The Prime Minister noted that terrorist organizations are always trying to prevent electricity from reaching Aleppo, adding that work is underway to examine the Aleppo thermal power station in preparation for repairing it.

Regarding water, al-Halaqi said that Sleiman al-Halabi station has began pumping water, and around 140,000 square meters of water should be provided to Aleppo on Sunday or Monday, which should provide the locals’ water needs fully.

He also said that al-Sheikh Najjar industrial city will resume activity now that the power is back to it and since it will be provided with the necessary petroleum products very soon.
