Geneva (ST): The Minister of Health, Dr. Hassan Al-Ghobash, discussed with the WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Region, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mandhari, ways to enhance health cooperation and ensure the optimal provision of health services to citizens.
During the meeting held on the sidelines of the 76th session of the World Health Assembly in Geneva, the two sides discussed developments and priorities related to health care.
Minister Al-Ghobash expressed his thanks to the Organization for its continuous support of the health sector in Syria, especially during the period of spread of the Coronavirus and the occurrence of the earthquake disaster.
It is noteworthy that the World Health Assembly unanimously elected Syria in May 2021 during its seventy-fourth session to members of the Executive Council of the World Health Organization, representing the Eastern Mediterranean Region for a period of three years.
