Syria has participated in the emergency session of the Executive Council of the World Health Organization held virtually via Zoom ,to discuss the health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories in light of the recent Israeli attacks, where the Minister of Health, Dr. Hassan Al-Ghobash, called for stopping the Israeli aggression against health facilities and other infrastructure.
Syria made a statement during the session held in Geneva in which Dr. Al-Ghobash stated via Zoom that the harsh conditions that the Palestinian people are suffering from, especially in Gaza, require the international and Arab community to respond so as to prevent further deaths, and to save the Palestinian people from the catastrophic situation on the health and humanitarian levels. Such a response has not taken place so far. Drl Al-Ghobash hoped that the WHO session would contribute to achieving the demands of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state.
Syria also called for the necessity of exerting all international efforts to put an end to the Israeli attacks and to the humanitarian catastrophe occurring in Gaza, demanding an immediate and permanent ceasefire, and allowing the continued flow of humanitarian aid on a large scale, in order to reach all the needy and injured Palestinian people.
