Al-Ghabbash discusses enhancing health cooperation with the Tunisian ambassador and the charge d’affaires of the Sudanese embassy

Damascus (ST): The Minister of Health, Dr. Hassan Al-Ghabbash, discussed with Muhammad bin Al-Bashir Al-Mahdhabi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tunisia to Syria, and Tariq Abdullah Ali, Chargé d’Affaires of the Sudanese Embassy in Damascus, ways of cooperation in the health field.

In a meeting held at the Ministry of Health, Minister Al-Ghabbash and Ambassador Al-Mahdhabi expressed the desire of the two countries to enhance health cooperation, indicating the importance of activating what was previously agreed upon, through the exchange of experiences and technical visits, in addition to remote expert meetings, to benefit from the Tunisian experience in confronting emerging diseases, primary health care, vaccination and pharmaceutical industries.

Minister Ghabbash referred to Tunisia’s positive stances towards Syria, which were reinforced by its fast response to providing humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people following the earthquake that struck Syria on the 6th of last February.

For his part, Al-Madhabi noted the necessity of resuming health cooperation, harmonizing a number of hospital institutions, and closely examining the measures taken by countries to confront health emergencies, especially accelerating the vaccination process.

In a related context, the Minister of Health, during his meeting with the charge d’affaires of the Sudanese embassy, reviewed the relations between the two countries at various levels, expressing the ministry’s readiness to coordinate and cooperate in the field of pharmaceutical industries.
