Minister of Health Hassan Al-Ghabbash and the WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Ahmed Al-Mandhari during a meeting on Friday in Aleppo discussed cooperation for urgent response to providing treatment services to the people affected by the earthquake in Syria.
Al-Ghabbash said that the health institutions are working around the clock and at full capacity to meet the needs of the injured due to the earthquake.
He stressed the need to assist the Syrian health sector, particularly in providing medical equipments and medicines that are necessary to save lives, pointing out that aid must be sustainable.
For his part, Al-Mandhari noted coordination with the health ministry and concerned parties to provide treatment services in the light of the growing need for medical assistance after the earthquake.
He hailed the efforts being exerted by the medical staff in Syria to alleviate the suffering of quake-affected people.
