AL denounces attacks on government security forces in Syria

CAIRO, Mar.8, (ST)-The General Secretariat of the Arab League has denounced the acts of violence and attacks on government security forces in Syria.

The Egyptian “Al-Ahram Gate” website quoted the General Secretariat of the League as saying in a statement issued today: “The General Secretariat expresses its condemnation of the acts of violence and attacks on government security forces and murder, and any external interventions that aim at fueling the internal situation, threatening civil peace and exacerbating the challenges facing Syria at the present stage.”

It added that it is following with great concern the developments of the security situation in the coastal region of Syria, and the confrontations that took place there.

The statement stressed that these circumstances require focusing on policies and measures that enhance and fortify stability and civil peace in order to thwart any plans which aim to destabilize Syria and undermine its chances of recovery.
