Al-Dahhak stresses the need to implement the advisory opinion of ICJ to end Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories
Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Qusay Al-Dahhak, called for implementing the advisory opinion of the international Court of Justice (ICJ) on the illegality of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and the need to end it as much as possible and halt the settlement policy.
“The occupying entity is obliged to pay compensation for damages caused to natural or body corporates concerned and all countries and international organizations should not add any kind of recognition or legitimacy of the situation resulting from the continued and illegal existence of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands,” Ambassador Al-Dahhak said in statement delivered Tuesday before the the General Assembly in his capacity as current Chairman of the Arab Group.
He affirmed that the Arab group condemns the repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory and targeting civilians, residential neighborhoods and infrastructure as well as the ongoing aggression on Lebanon.
