Al-Bassel 16th Exhibition on Creativity, Innovation Opened

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ In a move that reflects the spirit of challenge the Syrians enjoy and their determination to continue creativity and disseminate the message of civilization to the world, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Protection opened yesterday al- Bassel 16th Exhibition for creativity and invention , in collaboration with the Syrian Inventors Association and the general establishment for markets and exhibitions .
The Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Protection Samir Qadi Amin said during the opening ceremony, that the exhibition aims to embrace national innovations and inventors and incubate the principle of creativity and invention at all ages .

He pointed out that the exhibition aims to support inventors and provide them with all facilities , help them use current global techniques for free and guide them in order to access to global databases , stressing that the exhibition reflects the challenging will of the Syrian creators and inventors despite wounds and pains.

For his part, the Minister of Education , Dr Hezwan al-Waz explained that the exhibition includes inventions to inventors from different age categories, pointing out that the medals obtained by the Syrian creators at international competitions were a message from the Syrian people to the world.

For their part, Minister of Higher Education Dr. Malik Ali and Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade , Dr. Khader Orfali stressed the importance of the exhibition in linking the invention to investment in order to achieve added value to the country ‘s local product, especially that Syria will witness significant investments in various sectors in the next reconstruction phase.

Prominent Syrian creators and inventors at the scientific level and about 50 creative students and inventors from universities and Damascus high schools and several research and specialized scientific organizations are taking part in the 3-day conference which aims at reinforcing the principle of participation and contribution of the Vanguard and Youth organizations and the National Union of Syrian Students .

Also taking part are 7 innovative  professors who are patented with scientific awards and certificates in international exhibitions ,several scientific researches and the Syrian Investment Authority in a project to link inventions to national industry.
