Al-Barazi discusses with Russian trade delegation activating trade exchange and establishing joint ventures

Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Talal Al-Barazi discussed with a Russian trade delegation means of strengthening and developing economic cooperation and trade exchange between Syria and the Russian Federation, and opening new horizons for these relations.

Minister Al-Barazi underlined the importance of upgrading economic relations between the two countries and implementing this through trade exchange, revitalizing the export of Syrian goods and products, especially citrus, fruits and some agricultural products to the Russian Federation. Establishing joint projects that contribute to the development of the productive process in Syria was also put on the table.

For their part, the members of the delegation affirmed their readiness to set up investment projects in Syria, to enhance export and import between the two countries, and to cooperate in the field of fisheries projects, building materials, manufacture tractors, manufacture and repair boats of all kinds, and establish a center for packing citrus and fruits in Syria.

In turn, President of Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mazen Hammad, affirmed that the meeting aimed at finding the means and mechanisms that ensure the activation of economic activity and trade exchange between Syria and Russia and cover the needs of the local markets between the two countries as well as  achieving tangible results on the ground to serve interests of the two countries’ people.

The delegation includes a number of representatives of Russian companies working in the field of marketing citrus, building materials, tires and agricultural tractors.

Deputy Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Jamal Shuaib, and Director of the Syrian Enterprises for Trade and Syria for Grains attended the meeting.
