Al-Baath University honors 24 researchers for key scientific achievements

Homs (ST): In appreciation of their scientific achievements, Al-Baath University in Homs honored 24 male and female  researchers for publishing important research in international journals and databases that contributed to raising the university’s global ranking.

Published research topics dealt with the disciplines of nitrosophysiology (the study of the origin and nature of the neutral field), land cover maps, algorithms, robotics, Nanoscience and medicine.

Dr. Abd al-Basit al-Khatib, Rector of Al-Baath University, said in a statement to SANA news reporter that honoring the researchers supports the culture of innovation and creativity, creating ideas, solving human and social problems, developing the scientific research system and linking the university with society and the labor market, indicating that the publication of research in internationally refereed and highly influential journals has a fundamental role in raising the classification of Syrian universities, according to the international ranking website Web Matrix.

In turn, Dr. Fayeq Shaddoud, Secretary of the Arab Socialist Baath Party branch at the university, stressed during the honoring ceremony that the university has a national and pioneering role in the field of scientific research and that honoring is a clear picture of its achievements in various fields, pointing to the importance of motivating young researchers, postgraduate students and faculty members to conduct scientific research, especially at this stage and stressing that the research should be related to society to participate in the reconstruction of Syria.
