DAMASCUS,(ST)_ Vice-President Najah al-Attar has underscored that aggression on Syria targets the entire Arab nation, pointing out that Syria was the first country that raised the flag of Arabism and worked on consolidating Arab solidarity.
Her remarks were made during a meeting with a visiting Mauritanian parliamentary delegation on Wednesday.
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), al-Attar told the delegation that Syria is writing a new history and it will never forget those who stood by it and cooperated with it, especially the Arab brothers.
“The Syrian Arab army achieve great victories over terrorism in Syria and the martyrs have defended the Arab right and dignity ,” she said, asserting that the Main Stream Media (MSM) worked on distorting the reality of events taking place in Syria, weakening morale and fomenting sedition among Syrian people.
On his part, head of the Mauritanian delegation Mohammad Weld Fal reiterated his country’s support for Syrian people, army and leadership, saying that Syria’s victory over terrorism is a victory for all freepersons all over the world.
“Diplomatic relations between the two countries have not been affected during the years of crisis despite pressures put by several Arab and western countries on Mauritania,” he affirmed, indicating that Syria has been homeland for all Arabs.
Weld Fal said that Syria was targeted because of its achievements in economic development and self-sufficiency and because of its stances towards the Palestinian cause and the Israeli occupation.
“Syria has remained steadfast in confronting conspiracy thanks to its belief in the justice of causes it defends,” he underlined.
Susan meets Mauritanian delegation
The Mauritanian delegation also held talks with Deputy Minister of Expatriates and Foreign Affairs Ayman Susan.
The talks focused on the recent development in Syria and the importance of unifying forces in the Arab nation to defend the Arab identity and its existence and to confront colonization’s tools and agents that use the Arab nation’s wealth for serving enemies’ plots.
“Syrian people and army are determined to pursue terrorists till the liberation of all areas from the filth of terrorism,” Susan said.
Cultural, economic cooperation
Earlier today, the visiting delegation met Deputy Speaker of the People’s Assembly [Parliament] Najdat Anzour, who stressed the importance of joint cooperation with the Mauritanian parliament through exchanging visits.
The Member of Parliament Ali Sattof, who chairs the Syrian-Mauritanian Friendship Association in the Syrian Parliament, declared that there are steps to reactivate the Syrian cultural centers in Nouakchott and to activate the economic relations through exporting textiles to Mauritania.
“The Mauritanian government is ready for all kinds of economic and cultural cooperation,” Weld Fal affirmed, pointing out that his country will never forget that Syria had provided it with wheat during the economic blocked imposed on Nouakchott.
