Al-Assad Receives Message of Support from President Abbas

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ President Bashar al- Assad received yesterday a message from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, conveyed by the ambassador of the State of Palestine in Damascus Mahmoud al-Khalidi during his meeting with Dr. Faisal al-Miqdad Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

In his message, President Abbas stressed Palestinian people and leadership stand against any foreign interference in Syria and that the fate of Syria will affect the present and future of the Palestinian people, because the two brotherly peoples are partners in the present and the future.

The message also dealt with existing conditions on the Palestinian arena and Israel’s insistence not to comply with international law and legitimacy and its continued denial of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the ongoing attempt to pre-empt these rights, particularly through the settlement policy.

For his part, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister expressed his appreciation for the content of President Abbas letter and expressed Syria’s thanks for the Palestinian people, who stood by the Syrian people in the face of terrorism.

He stressed that the Syrian leadership stands against terrorists and murderers targeting the Palestinian camps in Syria ; in implementation of Israeli and the West schemes, stressing that Syria will spare no effort for the return of Palestinian refugees to their camps in Syria, and to expel the armed terrorist groups which committed anti- humanity war crimes against them.

Dr. Al -Miqdad stressed Syria’s unwavering support for the Palestinians and that what Syria is  facing is  part of an Israeli plan aims to abort the Palestinian issue as Syria is a country that rejected the American Zionist plans to liquidate the Palestinian cause and undermine the Palestinian people’s right for return and self-determination.
