Al-Assad Grants Martyr Actor Baqqouah Order of Merit
DAMASCUS, (ST) – President Bashar al-Assad issued Decree No. 96 for the year 2013, granting the late actor Yassin Baqqoush order of merit (level A) in recognition of his vital role in upgrading the level of the Syrian art.
Baqqoush’s order of merit is due to be received by the late actor’s heirs.
It is worth noting that the well-renowned actor was gave up his soul to God on February 24th when a terrorists’ mortar round directly hit his car in al-Yarmouk Camp superb in Damascus.
Born in Damascus in 1938, Yasin Baqqoush was one of the founders of Syrian comedy.
