Moscow (ST) – Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its air forces targeted sites of the terrorist organization (Jabhat al-Nusra) yesterday, which is on the international terrorism list, in the de-escalation zone in Idlib. The air strike killed and wounded a number of ISIS terrorists and destroyed their sites.
Deputy Head of the Russian Coordination Center Oleg Egorov said in a statement, that Russian planes targeted the underground headquarters of terrorist groups near the villages of Ruwaiha and Musaibeen, and destroyed their positions in the de-escalation zone in Idlib. Adding that the planes have prevented terrorist attacks on facilities belong to the Russian armed forces and the Syrian government forces.
Egorov indicated that thirteen terrorists were killed, including the two field leaders, Abu Youssef Al-Shami and Khaled Al-Youssef, nicknamed “Abu Omar”. 22 others from the terrorist group were seriously wounded, and their sites and headquarters were destroyed.
The Russian military official explained that the Russian strike also destroyed a weapons depot containing four primitive rocket launchers, an anti-aircraft gun and small arms.
