DAMASCUS, Jun.6, (ST)- The Director General of Civil Aviation in Syria, Basem Mansour, declared on Tuesday that one of the airlines started operating its civil flights between Damascus and Athens, indicating that this flights will later head to the cities of Dusseldorf in Germany and Stockholm in Sweden.
Mansour told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the company is “ Air Mediterranean”, and it will operate its flights from Athens to Damascus and vice versa weekly.
He pointed out that travelers will be able to follow their flights from Athens to many European countries such as London, Milan, Amsterdam, Prague, Berlin, Copenhagen and others.
Mansour added that the company operates regular flights between Athens and Damascus directly, which will contribute to alleviating the burdens and troubles of travel for all residents of Europe, by connecting its flights to Damascus and many European countries via Athens.
He also revealed that the Arab Civil Aviation Organization of the Arab League had informed the Syrian side of the return of all its activities and events, indicating that this step would led Arab countries to activate flights towards Damascus.
